“My Kids Refuse To Eat Vegetables”

Most kids dislike veggies. Many refuse to eat them altogether. As a result, many moms resort to hiding veggies in pasta sauce and meatballs. But is it possible to get kids to LIKE veggies?

This is a big challenge for me too. The best you can do is to keep trying: continue serving a variety of vegetables, encourage your children to try a bite or two, and never force them to eat anything that they don’t want to eat. Once in a while, your child will find out that they actually like a certain vegetable. Triumph!

It’s important to keep trying, because research shows that young children often need repeated exposure to a new food before they take the first bite.

It might also help to allow them to play with their food: the same research shows that young children often touch or smell new foods, and may even put tiny bits in their mouths and then take them back out again. Let them do it - it’s part of their introduction to a new food.
